ABOUT ME
I am 36 and live in Guildford (just south of London) with my girlfriend Anna.
In 2019 I have entered my first Ultra events - the 55km Lulworth Cove run on the 23rd March, the Isle of White Ultra on 4th May, the Lakeland trails 100km in the Lake District (at the midnight start in the photo) and then the 250km Fire and Ice 6 day ultra in Iceland - carrying everything I need for the week (food, clothes, sleeping bag, fire aid etc.) on my back throughout! They say its the toughest multi-terrain race out there!
All individually massive challenges (I have never ran more than a marathon prior to 2019) that together add up to over 500km of running!
I am paying all the entry fees myself (over £2,500 not including travel and kit!) so that all money raised will go to the charities.
I am raising money for two amazing charities, G.O.S.H. who saved my life as a child and continues to do so every day and CALM (Campaign Against Living in Misery) that focuses on mental health in men. Mental health in general is very close to my heart but it continues to be such an issue for men (the largest killer of men in the UK under 45) and so I really want to do my little bit to help bring that awful statistic down. Below is my blog that I am starting to give a little more background into me and what I am getting out of running, for anyone interested!
